Long before she was known to TV-viewers everywhere as "that girl from the iPod commercial," Leslie Feist was making music in her native Canada as the guitarist for By Divine Right and collaborating with a myriad of compatriots, including Peaches and Gonzalez. Feist's 2004 release, Let it Die, introduced listeners of all nationalities to her quirky, jazzy, indie pop and the singer's fetchingly breathy vocals. Based out of Paris, Feist appeared on two Broken Social Scene records. This year, Feist was nominated for four Grammy Awards, including for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for her 2007 release, The Reminder, and two noms for the single "1234," the tune behind that eye-catching iPod ad.
