Formed in 2002 by famed producer and manager Miles Copeland, the Bellydance Superstars is a professional American bellydance troupe that, in its 6 years of touring, has put on 700 shows in 22 countries. The group is the most-recognized international touring bellydance company and has been distinguished as “the next Riverdance” by The Sunday Times in London. Although it is still a fairly young creation, Bellydance Superstars (sometimes called "BDSS") has a long list of illustrious members, both former and current. The line-up of performers has become increasingly diverse throughout the years and incorporates elements of many different styles of the dance, from traditional Egyptian bellydance, to Turkish, to American Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion.
