Jamie Lidell is a musician and soul singer. He's a genuinely restless soul who broke out of a small town in England and has been a nomad ever since. His constant desire to progress - leaping and stumbling towards new discoveries - has defined his musical journey so far; and there’s no sign of it fading away. He is known for layering tracks made with his voice into a microphone and performing the percussion and melody as a sequenced, beatboxing one-man band. Then over his augmented voices, he sings soul-inspired songs. This exercise makes for energetic live performances. His music ranges from techno, pop, indie, and soul forever reaching beyond the typical confines of genre boundaries.
