will someone please explain what this whole '1000 years of music' thing is? i read something about him making this cd as joke or something in response to a rolling stone feature about music thru the years. any truth to that?
yeah it was the best music of the millenium and richard thompson was asked for his picks and he gave popular 17th century celtic songs, druid chants from the dark ages, etc., as a joke. Then he made a whole album around that concept, recording songs that have been popular over the last 1000 years.
