Gotta get Grandpa's Stash, Llama Train or Jescoe...those boys can rock, they can funk, they can soul, they can boogie and they can jam!
you're so right about Grandpa's Stash. i saw them for the first time last week when they opened for Llama Train, and they were waaaaaay better than i had prepared myself for them to be.
i haven't heard Jescoe. are they good?
I know Tenderhooks played last year (or maybe it was the year before...), but they are my favorite local rock band, so I'd love to see 'em on the Sundown stage again. Hmmm, who else.... Oh, The Everybodyfields and Rob Russell & the Sore Losers.
oooooh! i forgot how much i like angel and the lovemongers and the tenderhooks.
Brandy Robinson, The Big Duece, Cornbread Blues Band!!!! But for sure Brandy Robinson....she is funky and can get the crowd hype!
another thought:
someone suggested a hip hop show with Jurassic 5 or Blackalicious. I really think that should happen and if it does, local hip hop group Second String should perform. They just released an album and have had write ups in Metro Pulse and the KNS. Very good local act.
How about Blues Travelers, Paul Thorn, The Gourds, Keb Mo, Cadillac Sky?
local bands: Grandpa's stash, llama train, the incredible heat machine,
others: Addison Groove Project would be great, anyone w/ good horn sections like Dirty Dozen, Deep Banana Blackout, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Soulive, etc.
The Last Straw! and The Dirty Guvnahs! I saw both of them play a show one night at Barleys and the venue was to small for band like that to be playing. They both deserve a chance.
