General Discussion: Sundown lineup

I have to admit I am kind of disappointed. I love PUSA and Marc Brousard but overall not very exciting.

I'll reserve judgement till the TBA is announced...which is when, AC Entertainment?

I've heard rumors which I'd like full-filled.

I'm psyched to see Citizen Cope. I think there are many fans of his on this board. Holla!

I am SO excited about Sundown this year! That's the best lineup I've seen in the last five years, in my opinion. The only thing I wish is that Cizizen Cope would come another week because June 12th is the first day of Bonnaroo. I'll be in Manchester! The same thing happened last year with John Butler (before he cancelled). Why put the biggest best show that week of all weeks?!?! MAN, I really want to see Citizen Cope! =)

Why is the city only putting in $10000? I guess that explains the weak line-up. I wonder who really makes the decision on bands?

AC Entertainment books and produces Sundown in the City, so that's who "makes the decision on bands." The amount of the city's cash contribution has gone down over the years intentionally, the goal being that the series is eventually sustained by other means, including corporate sponsors. I'm glad you think the city should support Sundown with more money, but as a taxpayer, I'm not sure I'd like too many more of my tax dollars going toward a 12-week music series. Any festival planner has to keep a budget in mind in order to be sustainable from year to year. And I'm definitely in favor of paying musicians a fair wage to play!

Word! Tell 'em what's up paige! Hell, the musicians gotta feed the monkey, right? Personally, I love the variety of artist, otherwise I probably would never see acts like Citizen Cope & Marc Brousard. Keep up the good work y'all!

I agree... it should be a series that is sustained by local businesses. I'd rather my taxes are used to help the schools, pave roads, etc. As for the lineup... I think it's great! Marc, Cope, Wild Magnolias, Galactic, Josh, N. MS Allstars, Pres of the USA... pretty sweet!!! Looking forward to almost single every show!!!

any word on june 5th yet?

i'm pretty pumped about the lineup. what's not to like?

i am so excited about tonight. i LOVE Galactic!

must say I'm really happy that Jeff Coffin's gonna be w/ Mitch Rutman cause he should jam w/ UM too! Don't know if anyone remembers Umphrey's @ the Bijou but he went off on that horn, it was GREAT! Can't wait to see what happens next Thurs.!

Morph, you're 'bloody well right' he did!
