The Tennessee Theatre

When it opened in 1928, the Tennessee Theatre was hailed as “the South’s most beautiful theatre.” The Historic Tennessee Theatre reopened in January 2005 after a brief closure and a $24.4 million restoration. With its original architecture, design and colors restored, Knoxville’s Grand Entertainment Palace returns to its original splendor with the addition of state-of-the-art lighting and sound and beautifully appointed lobby and auditorium. The majestic Tennessee Theatre is a world-class performing arts center that hosts a wide variety of entertainment, from rock legends to jazz luminaries to international dance companies and famous speakers.
